Natural History of Florida
Through our 1 hr workshop on Florida’s Natural History, students will learn about how Florida was formed and what kind of animals used to live here. The interactive activities will help them explore standards related to rock formation, biodiversity, and climate change.
Students Will Learn
How Florida Formed
Students will interact with the different rocks that comprise Florida’s Geology and learn how they tell the story of Florida’s formation.
What Animals Lived Here
Students will learn about Florida’s diverse prehistoric occupants while matching real fossils to the animals they belonged to.

Students will see how fossils are found, how they form, and what we can learn from them.

Ancient Seas
The Ancient Seas Educational program takes students through the history of the ocean from the origin of life, to the Cambrian Explosion, and ending with our modern day ocean.

The Ice Age
The Ice Age Educational program focuses on the unique animals that existed in Earth’s most recent Epoch, the Pleistocene. Students will interact with real fossils from these animals and learn about the unique challenges that faced them while their climates changed. In addition, students will learn about Florida’s first human inhabitants and the tools they used.
