Digging Science believes that history should be experienced. When you hold a fossil or artifact that you personally found, you make a physical connection to the past. In a world where connection is measured in WIFI bars and Facebook likes, we rarely consider the past. Through Digging Science, we want you to travel back in time with us as we explore the past through fossil hunting, rockhounding, and artifact collecting.

Dinosaurs are often referred as the gateway drug to science. And if you have a natural curiosity than Digging Science is for you.  There is never an age when you are too young or too old to learn about the world.

Through Digging Science, we want to inform as much as we entertain. We have dedicated section of the site towards recent developments in Paleontology, Geology, and Archaeology and all our adventures have an educational undertone to them.

We plan to use this site as a platform to share our own experiences and insights in order to inspire and educate others. The story of this planet is an incredible one. 99% of life is now extinct and human history takes up .00006% of Geologic time. And while many people make careers studying the 1% of life still around, we are much more fascinated with everything that came before in the millions of years of earth’s history.

I personally have been fossil hunting and rock collecting since I could hold a shovel and it has shaped my obsession with the past. However, at this point in my life, all I want to do is share this obsession with as many people as possible. We live in a time where information is freely available to us and where millions of people are now connected. The goal of Digging Science is to help build a strong community around fossil hunting and educate others to the amazing stories hidden beneath us.
